The Micro picks its platform from the small slider on the back: S = Nintendo Switch, D = Android (D-input), K = Keyboard mode for Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, Android and Raspberry Pi. Power on, hold PAIR for one second to enter pairing the first time, then select [8BitDo Micro gamepad] on your device. After the first pairing it reconnects on its own when you power on in the same mode.

FAQ

Which slider position do I use for my phone?
Use D for an Android phone (it acts as a normal gamepad), or K (Keyboard mode) if you want the buttons to send keystrokes on any phone or tablet.
Can I use it as a Joy-Con on Switch?
No. On Nintendo Switch the Micro works as a standard controller only; it cannot act as a single Joy-Con, and motion, NFC and rumble are not supported.
