The Retroid Pocket 4 runs stock Android (Android 11 on the standard Dimensity 900 model; the Pocket 4 Pro ships with Android 13 on the Dimensity 1100) and receives official OTA firmware through the built-in updater under Settings > System > Updater. Keep it on Wi-Fi with the battery charged, tap Check Update, then download and install. Older Retroid OTA tools were labelled Updater; newer Retroid handhelds use a Retroid Pocket FOTA app, so if you do not see Updater, look for Retroid Pocket FOTA in the same System menu. Only install firmware Retroid distributes for the Pocket 4 and confirm the new build number afterward in About.

FAQ

Where do I check for firmware updates?
Open Settings > System > Updater and tap Check Update over Wi-Fi. If your unit shows Retroid Pocket FOTA instead, use that app in the same System menu. Updates do not always auto-prompt, so check manually.
Why is no update found?
You may already be on the latest build, or Retroid has not pushed a new OTA for your model. Confirm the current version in Settings > About and watch the goretroid.com software page for new releases.
