The Pocket Classic runs Android 14 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon (G1 Gen2) chip with official OTA support, so updates arrive over the air through the built-in Retroid Pocket FOTA tool under Settings > System. Keep Wi-Fi connected and the battery charged, tap Check version, then download and install. Retroid has already pushed at least one OTA (build 1.0.0.78). For a manual install you can place a Retroid-supplied update ZIP on the device, open the three-dot menu in the FOTA app and choose Local update. As a 2025 device its public documentation is thin, so follow the on-screen prompts and verify the version number in About.

FAQ

Where do I check for updates?
Settings > System > Retroid Pocket FOTA, then tap Check version. The Pocket Classic does not always auto-prompt, so check manually over Wi-Fi.
Can I install an update file manually?
Yes. Save the official ZIP to the device, open Retroid Pocket FOTA, tap the three-dot menu, choose Local update and select the package. Use only files Retroid supplies for the Pocket Classic.
